One of my favorite countries for vacation is Uruguay. Uruguay seems to be always something of an underdog. Between borders of Brazil and Argentina’s forefinger with the Río de la Plata, River of Silver, and the Atlantic ocean. The capital city of Uruguay is Montevideo – Ciudad Vieja is the lovely, unique oldest part of Montevideo.

My favorite hotel in Montevideo, Esplendor Montevideo, Uruguay

When it is very hot in the city of Montevideo – I go out to Punta del Este or José Ignacio – Maldonado. Football stars like Piqué and his well kwon wife Shakira, Messi … stars like the Rolling stones … were seen around José Ignacio. Sometimes I do a stop around Colonia del Sacramento – UNESCO protected Barrio Historico – for lunch.

Just a short car drive for beaches and excellent apartment complexes.
