The World’s Fastest Fishes – ThoughtCo 19. July 2019 0 comments Gallery photography Another great article in ThoughtCo with on of my work. The new article is about the fastest fishes which I could photograph in the Caribbean sea, during the sardine in South Africa (wild coast) and Tahiti. My used sailfish photo in the article I have photographed it near the Isla Mujeres, Yucatán near Cancun, in Mexico. When you dive or swim with sailfishes you need to be fast. It is very difficult to spot the sailfishes from the surface – almost impossible during scuba diving (just luck). Only hunting birds like the Frigate bird on the top you can spot indirect sailfishes. Usually the birds circuit above a fish bait ball – mostly sardines or anchovies and the sailfishes hunting in a huge sailfish group near the surface too. Keep the fishes like a ball. They select only one of the fishes with their lance, knock out the fish with a hit and swallow the fish near the surface. Only one fish, step by step until the entire fish bait ball is munched. The beauty of the sailfish, with open fan, you can see only during the hunting mode. A swimming sailfish looks grey and very slim.
