The Wartburg, Eisenach
On my way to Berlin, I took a break today at Wartburg Castle near Eisenach. High up in the Wartburg one has a fantastic view over the city of Eisenach and the surrounding countryside. I am spending the night in a hotel on the Wartburg and am enjoying the indescribable quite. A quiet that I only know otherwise from an island in the Maldives. The Wartburg is surrounded by many trees, I cannot judge whether it counts as a forest. The area is supposed to be a paradise for ramblers. While I was taking my pictures of the Wartburg at night (around midnight), I had an eagle owl as spectator. It was unfortunately too dark to photograph the beautiful animal. I can only recommend a visit to the Wartburg and a stay at the Hotel on the Wartburg!

Einzigartig, wunderbar, - aber das wundert nicht. Weil ich Thüringer aus Erfurt bin, im Thüringer Wald aufwuchs, und lang, lang in der Fremde war - und noch immer dort sein muß. - Ich grüße Euch, Klaus
