The whole day was rainy, so my guide - Olaf Gollnow - could only show me the distinctive sights of Berlin from the car. On the other hand, I could see a world city in a relaxed way, and process historical milestones in German history.

I can still remember the Ronald Reagan visit in 1987 well, and how in his speech near the Brandenburger Tor he called for the Wall to be pulled down. Some East German police watched from the other side of the Wall. Now we have the first woman Chancellor ever - Angela Merkel - and she comes from East Germany like I do.

By the evening it had finally stopped raining, and I could take some pictures of the last day of the Festival of Lights.
