Thanda Private Game Reserve
The last two days in the Thanda Private Game Reserve I took part in "game drives" again. Happily I was with the Thanda Game Reserve guide - Michelle Schwemmer - and tracker - Ibrahim - without any other guests. On my African safaris, I love to watch animals at the water holes. They are places where most of the animals in the area gather. I was particularly happy to have seen a giraffe drinking. Drinking is dangerous for a giraffe, as it is defenceless against predators for that moment. A drinking giraffe looks funny, too. The bird life in the Thanda Game Reserve is wonderfully beautiful too. The birds are hardly shy at all, and sometimes drink from my bungalow pool. I was able to photograph them from a distance of about 3 metres.
