Elsie at an aeroplane wreck

Duke of York Islands - Papua New Guinea

For the next dive in the area around the "Duke of York Islands", I use the Seacam-Superdome and Nikon 12-24mm wide angle lens for photographing the beautiful gorgonians on the reef. Elsie, a member of the Star Dancer Crew, helped me to find the loveliest places on the reef and also posed as a model for me by the gorgonians. Unfortunately, I am not entirely satisfied with the lighting for these pictures, as I did not get the optimal sunlight from the surface. I hoped to find sharks because of the currents at the reef, but sadly there was only one small and very shy whitetip reef shark to be found. I dived after the little shark, but he was already gone. Was it because of how I looked? I decided then and there to take a self-portrait, and was reassured by Elsie that it could not have been because of my looks :-)
