The first dives at Jonny’s Jetty and Atun Wrack - Papua New Guinea

We made our first dives at Jonny's Jetty and the Atun Wrack, not far from Rabaul. Visibility underwater was very bad, as it had rained strongly the last few days and lots of sediment had been washed from the land out to sea. So I concentrated on macro photography, with a giant anglerfish, sea slugs and small shrimp in the anemones. I used the 60mm and the 105mm Nikon Micro lenses at both sites (see my photography equipment). I was also able to try out the two new "diopters" von Seacam, which are available in versions #2 and #4. The combination of the 60mm Nikon Micro with the "diopter - factor #2" worked perfectly - the same combination with the "dioptre - factor #4" had some problems with the autofocus. It was not possible to take good wide angle pictures of the Atun Wreck because of the poor visibility.
