Another journey to the Emirate Dubai – United Arab Emirates

This evening I am flying from Frankfurt with Emirates to the Emirate of Dubai. Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates. My reason for travelling there is not only to photograph the underwater world in the Persian Gulf, but also the world-famous BURJ-AL-ARAB, the next door hotel Jumeirah Beach and some other breathtaking buildings in the region. The Emirate Dubai inspires me every time, just like the city state Singapore in my visits in the last few years. On my last visit to Dubai I was able to eat real proper Bavarian food, as the pork knuckle and wheat beer were excellent. It was also very strange to see the Philippine waiter in Lederhosen serve me pickled pork with sauerkraut, to a background of Bavarian folk music - "enjoy it" :-) The restaurant was as cool as a restaurant in Germany, and this with an outside temperature of over 30 °C. I could also refresh my Russian from my East-German school days, as there are many well-heeled Russians in Dubai. Luxury goods are also usually very inexpensive -jewellery and gold are particularly sought after by the guests. Dubai is also much warmer than Moscow or St. Petersburg :-) There are also some shops which have no prices in the window - I only asked about the price labels once in one shop :-)))

I will travel further for two days to the Sultanate of Oman, to do some more underwater photography. I will unfortunately not be able to make a side trip to the capital of Oman - Muscat:-(
